Kelly

Kelly is a very sweet, young shepherd mix, under a year.  Kelly is a special needs dog as she is blind. We are just learning about her ourselves.  To get the latest on Kelly, please complete our Adoption Application or contact Linda.

Desperately Seeking Foster Homes!

Fostering is a beautiful way to help cast-off animals begin to trust again.

Few  Mutt activities capture so well the underlying essence of animal support. To be sure, while there are many ways to help out, fostering is one volunteer function that's very "hands on" - or very "hearts on", as its beneficial effects can be immediate, clear, and lasting - for the animal and the volunteer.   If you can open up your home to help, please contact Linda as soon as possible.  Thanks!

The Top 10 Benefits of Fostering

  1. Fostering saves millions of cats’ and dogs’ lives each year.
  2. Fostering gives one-on-one attention to orphans and animals with trust issues that shelters otherwise would have to euthanize immediately.
  3. Fostering allows animals to live in a home environment and become accustomed to typical sights, sounds and smells rather than being confined to a cage.
  4. Fostering allows the foster owner to get to know the animal and give potential adopters a better idea about its personality.
  5. Fostering helps socialize shy animals.
  6. Fostering helps shelters build their facilities as well as keep them staffed.
  7. Fostering allows parents who want their kids to experience the miracle of birth to do so without adding to the pet population by fostering a pregnant queen.
  8. Fostering animals provides short-term companions for seniors without the personal pet expenses.
  9. Fostering gives you an opportunity to really get to know a cat before you make a long-term commitment.
  10. Fostering allows you to have no out-of-pocket expenses except food and litter because many rescue groups pay for all the foster’s medical needs. All you add is love.

Summer's here and it's time to restock on flea & tick prevention, heartworm medications, and support our shelter at the same time!

GoodSearch

GoodSearch is a search engine which donates 50% of its revenue to charities and GoodSearch: You Search...We Give! schools designated by its users. It's a simple and compelling concept. You use GoodSearch exactly as you would any other search engine. Because it's powered by Yahoo!, you get proven search results. The money GoodSearch donates to your cause comes from its advertisers — the users and the organizations do not spend a dime!  In 2007, GoodSearch was expanded to include GoodShop, an online shopping mall of world-class merchants dedicated to helping fund worthy causes across the country. Each purchase made via the GoodShop mall results in a donation to the user's designated charity or school – averaging approximately 3% of the sale, but going up to 20% or even more.

This is an incredibly easy way to donate
to our rescue efforts!  Please spread the word!!!
